Our Core Values

Newness of Direction from the Bible

We believe in the authority and relevance of the Bible, giving truth and direction in every aspect of our daily lives.  Therefore, we place high priority on reading, studying, and applying God’s Word in every situation.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Everyone Works Together

We believe in the authority and relevance of the Bible, giving truth and direction in every aspect of our daily lives.  Therefore, we place high priority on reading, studying, and applying God’s Word in every situation.

2 Corinthians 9:6-15

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written:

“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.”

Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

With all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength

We believe worship is a whole-person, whole-life, experiential relationship with God.  We love, honor, and glorify Him in the Sanctuary, in our homes, and in our work places 24/7/365.

Matthew 22:36-37

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

Helping Our Neighbor

We believe God calls us to serve the people in our Church, our Community, and our World.  We seek to be aware of the needs and be involved in the lives of those around us, in ever-widening circles.  We pour ourselves out to meet those needs with compassion as God leads and empowers us.

Acts 4:32-35

All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.

Open to the work of the Holy Spirit

We believe following Jesus is a life-long journey of relationship with God.  As we love and follow Him, being open and surrendering ourselves to Him, we are being transformed by the Holy Spirit.  He shapes our character and molds us into the image of Jesus.

Romans 12:1-3

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

Growing Relationship with God

We believe God longs for direct and intimate conversation with us.  We choose to create an atmosphere in which prayer permeates everything we do.

Philippians 4:6

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Experiencing Relationships

We believe Jesus calls us to live in community.  As we share life together, we show love, demonstrate acceptance, and celebrate forgiveness in relationship with each other.  As the Church, we seek to enter into meaningful relationships with one another.

Acts 2:42-47

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke breadin their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
